"government spending has doubled since 1980" |

According to Romeny, this is an argument for voting for a Republican President.
So between 1980 and 2008 we had a Democratic President for 9 out of those 28 years. Seems like it was three Republican Presidents who were responsible for most of that increased government spending.

if it only doubled over a 30 year period, that isn't too bad, considering population growth, etc.
I'm struck by the lack of specifics, the standard Big Spending Liberal and high taxes bs; that's the best they've got?
