with nothing more than snide remakes and facial expressions. This is it? That's all? I can do without the hatefulness.

chance in hell women will flock to her. They recognize what a backstabber she is. Her mannerisms say it all, smart women can see it from a mile away. This is NOT a woman they would want as a friend.

Rather than coming across as just one of the people, she acts like the boss from hell. Glad to see her fail.

15. I have spoken to several women, some who supported Hillary and some who did not... |
|
The universal feeling is that she is a mean-spirited, hypocritical individual. The backstabbing thing is also out there. There seems to be a feeling, at least in the women I have spoken to, that she is trying to sucker women into supporting her and McSame, but that she actually despises all women who are not like her (fundie fanatics) and cannot wait to knife them in the back over women's rights.
Has anyone else noticed that about fundie women in general? They tend to despise those members of their own sex who make different choices with their lives. They have far more hate for a single, childfree career woman than for a deadbeat dad. That is the impression that a lot of women are getting from Palin, and it's probably quite accurate.

You study group is decent but I think Palin appeals to a lot of fence men and other women. Not everyone has the paranoid ultra-partisan bias.

She's been on the scene for a whopping five days, & then shows up at the RNC like she's been in politics for thirty years & has some authority. She needed to introduce herself to the people, play nice, & adovcate for McSame. Instead, she takes low punches at Obama, like he hasn't done anything, when she's done EVEN LESS. I agree, women will find her vile & mean. I know I do, & I was willing to give her a chance with this speech, maybe she's a nice person. SIKE. I turned it down. I was getting furious.

12. Those lenses have no refractive index whatsoever. They're window glass. |
|
It's quite obvious from the oblique photos where the line of her cheek is continuous and not refracted at all.
She uses them for appearance ... like a "B-list" porn star at the beginning of a "Librarian Does It In The Stacks" porn movie ... she removes the glasses, lets down her hair, and unbuttons her blouse.
It's one of the most hackneyed and obvious melodramatic soft porn seduction scenes imaginable.
She's a parody .. a dirty joke.

14. Vile? I think she's cute. |
|
Her speech was delivered well, to an audience that wanted to hear it. She brings "true conservative values" to the ticket, and she's going to help Mccain get some votes.
Why hate her? She's fine, harmless, and cute as a button.
Bottom line- people that are swayed by her aren't going to vote for Obama anyway. She's all emotion and no substance. She has a great story but offers no policy.
Let her have her fun. Come November, she's going to have to go back to raising kids and running Alaska.
Peace.

21. "fine, harmless, and cute"? She was hand-picked to be one big, ongoing distraction from real issues. |
|
And that very fact makes her dangerous. She is, in effect, the grinning, semi-glamorous mouthpiece for a pack of cold-blooded killers.
In an age of super-dumbed-down narratives, she is, in her own way, an ideal "tele-politician" -- a walking soap-opera that will continue to draw the media focus (and it won't be all negative, sorry to say) away from the issues.
And if the Democratic Party simply ignores her, it does so at its own peril.

She played the same hate filled game that Dick Cheney played of trying to make her opponent into a "danger to America." The rhetoric of her speech is the type of hateful extremism you'd get from a Cheney speech.

27. Palin reminds me intensely of a former boss |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 01:16 PM by ProgressiveFool
I worked in the office at a furniture factory for about a year and a half, where we had about 24 new people come and go between the 5 or 6 positions that there were to fill, other than the Dirctor of Ops (this boss) and her best friend (who got two promotions in that time).
Her attitude was, "You only get to cross me once, then you're my enemy." She was fakely nice to people she was just meeting, fawned over the owner of the factory, catty about people behind their backs, dumb as a post and completely ignorant of the issues facing the factory because she spent all her time playing politics in the office, and not above using underhanded tactics to get something damning on people she didn't like. She tried to get me and others to spy on the factory manager (her rival for power) and when we wouldn't, she went into his office and found a folder full of mildly offensive jokes and cartoons, and threatened him with sexual harassment if he wouldn't resign.
She was, of course, a Republican.
So I've seen this archetype before, but I'm not sure if it has a name. Ice Queen, I would call it, which is strangely fitting for Palin for other reasons.
edit: About another year after I was finally terminated (I flew under the radar longer than most) the factory went out of business, which would have been good revenge-wise, if not for the 150 or so innocent factory workers that were also out of luck.
