1. Hubby finally held the kid.
Then dished him off to the little one so he could wave to the adoring crowd. Puke.

32. My issue isn't bringing the kid out ...
It was using the prop to cover BristolStomp's little belly, while we all thought it was just a nice family portrait, come to find it was all calcualated to hide the pregnancy. Freakin' sneaks. And then they cleanup up that Redneck "F***" (his words) in that goofy suit and drag him along, when he clearly felt uncomfortable, and doesn't even have the common sense to lose the gum while standing on a stage with the potential President and Vice President (God Forbid).

9. I'm telling you, the body language in the tabloid pics of her and the baby
suggests to me that she is not well bonded to this baby. I haven't seen any pix of her holding the baby up close to her face, sort of a cheek to cheek thing. She holds him like she's showing off a new X-Box or Wii.

Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 10:47 PM by TahitiNut
There is absolutely no visible body language that'd indicate bonding, nurturing, supportive relationships. They act around her like she's nitroglycerine.

19. Well, their parents (Sarah and Todd) are stuck in a high school mentality.
There's no room for the kids to grow ... they're the flotsam of two high-schoolers still self-indulged in their games. Snow-mobiling, fishing, hunting, playing Class President and Beauty Queen and petty politics. Back-stabbing and tests of "loyalty" and an "enemies list" and all the WORST of adolescent sociopaths. The Obamas passed these people in emotional and intellectual maturity at the age of 14.

The body language of the kids speaks volumes. (DON'T get in mom's way!) Using Trig as a POLITICAL PROP ... adolescent "Show and Tell." Her self-indulged "dress up" (to look like one of the smart kids?) ... just a fucking emotional adolescent,

43. Sarah Palin is just a "mean girl" who never grew up...
and it becomes more apparent every day. She says she doesn't belong to the "old Boy" network, but her abuses of power, blatant pandering, and propping herself up in this impossible "mother of the year/super woman/commoner who hunts and snowmobiles" narrative is all the "old boys" ever do. It's all talk and no substance - just like high school.

46. Yup. She's a "Mean Jean Schmidt" with porn star looks (which appeals to the GOPhers).
I just can't get past the contrived 'fashion glasses' and pinned-up hair that makes her look like a parody of the opening scene soft porn 'librarian' that's so typical in such trash. Hell... and I haven't even watched any porn since my 20s - and bachelor parties.

33. Where is the birth certificate for Trig?
Until Sarah produces the birth certificate with her and Todd's
name, I will not believe that the baby is hers. The whole
story surrounding this baby's birth doesn't pass the smell
test. She certainly is very comfortable with lying and using
her children. And doesn't her whole family remind you of the
TV show "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman"?

Seems he's acquired a taste for a "Half Pound Of Ground Hound On Rice" strippers and free beer...The Donner effect?

I read that somewhere, so it must be true. That kind of research and fact finding works for Jerome Corsi and the GOP. They read or heard it so it must be true. I guess they believe everything they read in the funny papers too. At least they govern like they do.

All that noise must have been hard on his ears. I would have been impressed if she left him out of the dog and pony show last night and explained that she was concerned on how the noise would effect her child.

49. I'm concerned about the baby. A baby without DS would be freaking out with all that stimulation.
I don't know a lot about Down Syndrome, but it seems that the baby does not react to his surroundings. A four month old baby would be screaming or seem very uncomfortable with all of that going on around him, being passed back and forth like a doll. Yet he remains very sedate.

My concern is that because he is not reacting to the stimuli, that they are assuming that it's okay for him to be in a stadium with thousands of people chanting and yelling and clapping, and music blaring, when it's probably taxing his immune system and perhaps damaging his development.

Show me any other months-old baby that attended the convention that way, or has been dragged out on stage for extended periods. They should have found a caregiver/sitter to hold him backstage and bring him out for photo ops if they had to. But the way they all hold him like he's a sack of potatoes... hanging him in front of them, for the camera, is just wrong.
