16. You misunderstand my ultimate desire...

If Palin implodes the way I'm trying to keep myself from praying for, the "Christian" right will implode spectacularly. The country really needs that to happen. My own grandchildren's future depends on it, I have skin in this game.

Do you see my dilemma? If I pray for a boon for my country, I pray that those poor children are the result of some depraved behavior?

She has clearly already made herself well noticed. Any dirt in her life will out, your prayers or not. The best we can do is continue to try and protect her kids and "pray" that they will come through as unharmed as possible. From there let the chips fall where they will.

15. I think her political career in Alaska will suffer

because of this. She hasn't been vicious to Democrats and Independents while she's been governor. She had too many enemies in her own party and needed us to prop her up. I think a lot of people will be disappointed that she seems to have taken a crash course in divisive Rovian politics. She'll probably be a one-termer when she would have been guaranteed two.

Well, as you say, maybe then she can be a parent (and grandparent).
