I'd say that's a pretty damning indictment of her judgment right there.

3. If you name your kid Track...
"If you grow up in Hawaii you're "exotic." Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, you're the quintessential "American story."

"Similarly, if you name you kid Barack you're "unpatriotic." Name your kid Track, you're "colorful."

9. I only heard the reason for Bristol. Sarah wanted to be a sports caster
for ESPN, but changed her mind when she found out she would have to move to Bristol, Ct. As a compromise to herself, she named her daughter Bristol.

I'm SURE there are similar stories about the rest of the names, but I haven't heard them yet.

Where she fishes illegally. The others are either Alaska locations or Nordic names. Except Track, because the father ran track or something like that.

Maybe, but I did hear it was because of ESPN. They have their
large facility there.

ESPN's Bristol campus contains 27 satellite dishes taking in more than 40,000 feeds per year, recording approximately 200 hours of highlights and program content each day. The Digital Center opened June 7th 2004 and the campus now spans across 64 acres and utilizes 600,000 square feet of building space.

11. well, it tells me that she views her children as objects
if they're simply objects, then she never has to develop genuine, deep relationships with them. No wonder her family is in crisis.

I'm no expert, but that's my opinion.

characters in soap operas. I don't watch them so I don't know if this crop of names comes from that source.

I like the names. There is much to dislike about the Palin parents but I don't consider the choices they made for their children's names to be one of them.

30. You really want to go there?
One fine morning, an Indian Chief was talking to one of the village braves. The Chief was telling the brave about how the Great Spirit had a plan for every single day the sun rose. More than that, The Chief told the brave that EVERYTHING was in accordance with the plan that the Great Spirit thought the world should be.

The brave asked a question about how the braves came to get their names.

The Chief answered in the only way he knew... that it was HIS (the Chief's) Spirit given responsibility to give Indian newborns their name...

"If a brave is born in the night and in the morning I awake to see a sun clouded by moisture, I call the brave SunCloud. If I leave my teepee in the morning and see buffalo in the distance, I call brave Distant TaTanka. If I awake, leave my teepee to pee and see full moon, I call the brave WetMoon."

"Why you ask, TwoDogsFucking"?

Notice my nickname.

Being fundies, I'd think they would be violently opposed to giving a kid any name that didn't come out of the Bible. But no Biblical names to be found among them.

39. Sounds like a 60's Hippie to me,
Having grown up during that time, I have no problem with 60's hippies. It just doesn't work with her Steppford wife image. Heard the Bristol name was because she wanted to work for ESPN, then found out she had to move to Bristol Connecticut where they have their offices so shelved that plan. But guess she like the name Bristol.
