Can you explain to me why gestapo tactics are acceptable on the thousands of peaceful protesters in the streets of St. Paul but the Justice department considered a credible assassination attempt in Denver, "more aspirational, perhaps, than operational"? According to a blog called Orcinus referred by another poster earlier, the FBI wanted to charge the men with conspiracy to assassinate Senator Obama. Unfortunately the Rove hand picked attorney/stooge Troy Eid declined to prosecute.

This is something that should shock all Americans. The Justice department is tacitly endorsing assassination attempts as long as they aren't "operational". When do they become operational, when they succeed?

This is what 8 years of the growing Republican Corporate permanent national security state has left us. While we obsess over the latest shiny object, the Federal Justice architecture is morphing into the SS. We have arrived at a full blown police state. The Constitution and its checks and balances are being dismantled by a group of royalist zealots. They have stacked the courts, the Justice Department, and the media.

The protesters in St. Paul are putting their bodies on the line in the face of this beast. Journalists are getting roughed up, gassed and hauled off to jail for reporting it. The Patriot Act and it's Homeland Security apparatus are being taken out for a test ride in middle America. It's working quite well thank you. Meanwhile, in their air conditioned towers the duplicitous media elite blather on about horse races and celebrities.

I am almost embarrassed that I sit here figuratively chained to my laptop waiting for the next Palin scandal to hit, staring at the latest shiny object. We are watching nothing less than the destruction of the founding principals of the Republic. What is be left is a shell of bread and circus, with the clowns leading the parade.

Justice is no longer blind, only it's right eye is closed.
