CINCINNATI — A New Orleans woman saw art in the despair left behind by Hurricane Katrina.

Artist Jana Napoli gathered drawers from flooded and abandoned neighborhoods, and three years after Katrina struck, an exhibit of those drawers is on display at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center in Cincinnati, ONN's Lot Tan reported.

Napoli gathered more than 700 drawers, many containing priceless mementos such as love letters.

The arts center's executive director Ruth Dickey calls the exhibit a moving experience.

"New Orleans wasn't just devastation in a mass scale, it was this family and that family," Dickey said. "Seeing it on a personal level is really powerful."
