Hagee.. to "stay-at-home-dads"..... “Hell is your future home,”
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 04:30 PM by RedEarth
On MSNBC this morning, McCain campaign spokesperson Tucker Bounds touted the fact that Todd Palin is a “stay-at-home-dad.” Interestingly, radical cleric and erstwhile McCain endorser Rev. John Hagee insists that, in the Lord’s eyes, a stay-at-home-dad is “a bum” who is “worse than an infidel.” “Hell is your future home,” Hagee says.

7. Ironic, but the GOP dumped him a while back
'At least McCain didn't sit in his church for 20 years yadda yadda'. Amusing to us, but won't win any arguments.

9. Heck, the guy is NOT a stay-at-home dad. This is a lie.
Per a Wasilla resident on one of the Alaska blogs, Todd is gone 2 weeks at a time for the oil job, frequently gone for the fishin', and also runs around doing his snowmaching racing. She says the kids are "farmed out" (google it to find the blog, I would think) to relatives.

10. I'm a stay at home Grand dad
I must be an ultra-ultra bum who's even much worse than an infidel.

I wonder what will happen if I get to hell before Hagee? I can see it now: "Remember, at 4:30 you shove a pineapple up Hagee's ass!"

11. What Hagee and a lot of his type, is missing is this..
In some areas, more women than men are actually graduating from college, and since wages have been falling for decades, and people still want families, someone has to take care of the little kids.. Daycare is expensive, and often costs MORE than the net income of the "lower earner" in the family.

People tend to "set" their income level early in their working lives, and once obligations are taken on ...house, cars..kids..debt..aging parents.. it's impossible to turn back that clock and choose a new career. If a couple finds itself in a situation where the wife's income is better and comes with insurance benefits, then Dad should be the stay-at-home parent..especially if daycare and the costs of that 2nd job outweigh the benefits to the family..

What if Mom is a union member with pension-plan, insurance, decent wages and job security, and Dad's job gets outsourced to India.. Why shouldn't he consider childcare, instead of a series of no-benefit, low-paying jobs..if he's happy to take care of the kids..
