on 3/4's of ALL the clothes I bought tonight for my Family.
How is it it that we spent Billions in Vietnam..and killed so many of our "Best and Brightest" and left others SCARRED...that I'm buying clothes..with "Made in Vietnam" Label?"
What does this mean?
If I was a Pragmatist...I'd say...in a few years we will have "MADE IN IRAQ" stamped on our clothes...and we won't even "blink and eye" because we are so used to how we "invade" and corrupt and then "Build a Textile Business in the Countries we want to Democratize!"'
Although we send our kids to fight for these WARS for CORPORATISTS and they LOOSE THEIR LIVES...as "Collateral Damage" and it's all so we can "Bring Democracy and "garment labels" made in..... to the American People who always "buy cheap...and sell their country down the river" as the jobs leave..
How MUCH is "FASHION" WORTH?
Any thoughts on this?

those folks in Asia, who labor under Dickensian Conditions are far different from European and Asian Car Companies who are working "hand in hand" with US Suppliers....that's what I'm saying, here.

and we lost - not just over 50,000 young lives. We lost.
We seem to lose every time we unilaterally invade and attempt to occupy a country that never had any brief with us.
I'm glad I'm not going to live long enough to see "Made In Iraq" labels in things.

8. If they win...why is it so profitable to send out kids out there to die for Sweat Shop Labor? |
|
Which...you already know...but no one even talks about it on Dem or Repug sides!

9. It smells of blood...but there's little alternative..for some........ |

That's the point. I might buy all my clothes from "undergound" friendly sites...but...what does the rest of America buy?
How does it influence their psyche to see: Made in: Vietnam, Cambodia, SkriLanka, China, Uzbekistan (yeah, I'm seeing that) Kenya (jeans that smell like washed in urine) and Malaysia, Kurdistan and EVEN...United Arab Emerites and Kuwait? I've seen clothing marked with ALL THESE LABELS.
It's what Wall Mart, Kohl's and Target and the rest buy from. It's what America sees out there in the Heartland...and they find nothing wrong with buying from them. That's what my "shopping outside" allows me to see. :-(

6. Yep..it seems India and Vietnam are now vying for lowest prices...what kid get's mauled or abused |
|
trying to work in Dickens Era of the Far East... Sick...and sad...and horrible that if we need a few threads to replace what we wore out...we have to deal with this. But, yeah...I should just buy "Made in America" cotten goods. There are some good sites for that on the web.
But...it's fun, for a break sometimes...to try to get out with the rest of folks...and it just makes one sad...even though one has PRINCIPLES...to have to give up an "outing" to get trashed by Bush Economy on Labels......and have it all spoiled. :-(
