3. Also interesting is the judgement that the surge has succeeded.
As usual, Americans - including Obama - have the apparent attention span of a goldfish. They seem to think that because violence is down in the police state we've created, it won't be back in a heartbeat once we leave. We're prisoners of our own disastrous decision, the one Obama rightly criticized when we had the chance to change things.

6. All troops? No....Some troops? Yes. Iraq will be/is a client state of US economic control.

Its about the oil. If a democracy works, fine. If a dictatorship works, fine.

It was never about anything other than controlling the oilfields but there will be a permanent military presence in Iraq forever.

7. First of all, "Bloomberg" isn't exactly the Huffington Post.
Second. Obama may not be in exact sync of how we think. We'll bend him after he is in office.

Third. He's better than the alternative. By a mile.
