The Republican ideal of "service"
I am watchig a repeat of "The Daily Show" and JS points out their mocking of community service and then shows the Repubs holding up signs for "Service". He's makes some great point with humor but what I think it points out is that the reason the Repubs mocked Obama's community organizer experience (besides the fact that it was Obama who did it) is because they don't respect any service unless it's military. Helping the community does nothing for their pocket books so it's worthless to them. Although I'm sure some of the no-so-well off amongst them have used the services of the community, it still is something that has no worth to them so they don't see the point of it. Just a thought.

1. Bow down before the ones you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.

2. They don't respect military service.
Cheney, "I had other priorities."

"My personal physician wasn't available, heh, heh, heh" - Smirk's pitiful, lying excuse for dodging his flight physical.

Remember the wounded grunts at Walter Reed? Smirky's plastic turkey?

With the exception of McCain (Yes, I know. He was a POW) and Chuck Hagel, name one living Republican who has done honorable military service.

We're just kleenex to be used and thrown away.

4. Warner, Dole
GHW Bush, I am sure there are others in high places that I cannot think of now. Don't paint with too wide a brush.

7. The only time these people respect 'service' is when they're expecting it from someone else.
