We should enact a law to prohibit RVs from being on the road between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, and fine those who violate that law. That would really boost our economy.
What I wave as I drive by those slow moving RVs could not be interpretted as friendly. I am sooooo glad that tourist season is over for the year.
The 18 wheelers now a days have tons of power! I have had them come up on me doing over 65 and that was uphill with them having double trailers! No more slowpoke truckers!
I remember the old windy road from Wasilla to Fairbanks, and that was no fun with Rvs. No place to pass with all the turns and such. Having to wind it up to 100 to get by someone in short order was not my idea of fun.

So we pay a 10 % tax on all fuel we use, this is above the stated .08 per gallon on gas. So figure the average smaller house uses around 1200 gallons of fuel a year, I just had a fill up and the price was $2.35 a gallon.
Unleaded is running around $2.90 a gallon. You do the math.
I've been checking out condos for sale in Anchorage and am blown away at the property/real estate taxes in AK - annually they run around $2,200 or so. Here in VA, I pay a little over $1,900 for my home on 10 acres. I guess you're right - no state income tax is made up in other ways.
