Inconsiderate drivers..... where is a cop when you need one?
Edited on Sat Sep-06-08 04:42 PM by Jokinomx
My wife had one of those moments last week. While driving to work, she saw an ambulance with it's lights on along side the road. As she approached, she also noticed a police car in front of the ambulance. She said she was about 30 or so yards from the emergency vehicles and noticed that a cop was walking around the ambulance and so she continued to slow down eventually coming to a stop on the road. Apparently, the driver of the car behind my wife didn't see the cop, because she was screaming.... "What the hell are you doing?":grr: ... "Fucking Asshole!" ect..ect..

My wife's window was open and she could hear her very well. She heard every word of this dipwad ranting and swearing because of my wife stopping on the road because she was unsure if it was safe to proceed. Well, the ambulance pulled out, turned around and proceeded to the hospital.... and the cop walked over to my wife and said "Thank You very much Ma'am, I really appreciate your driving." Then he walked over to the driver of the other car and said "You! Pull over!"

My wife left feeling pretty damn good that the cop had been paying attention. It made her day.

I told her that the other driver must have been a mclame/falin supporter and saw the Obama/Biden bumper sticker my wife has on her car.

I just wanted to share.... :toast: to all the emergency workers out there that put themselves at risk everyday from people that don't care about anyone but themselves.

2. In many places, it's now the law to "move over when you see emergency lights".
In many places, it's now the law to "move over when you see emergency lights".

For example:

http://www.gallupindependent.com/2008/May/052008move.html

So on an expressway, you *MUST* move to the center or left lane
when you see emergency vehicles stopped on the shoulder adjacent
to the right lane.

There's a big campaign currently underway here in New Hampshire
(where this just became the law) but I think it'll still be a while before
the message reaches all the yahoos on the road. I'm not sure exactly
what one should do on a two-lane road (one lane in each direction),
but tell your wife that she "did good". And the cop apparently agreed.
