More right-wing nuttery: refusing the dollar coin.
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 07:52 PM by The Backlash Cometh
We really do live in two very different countries, and as long as Nancy Pelosi keeps sitting on her skinny, flabby ass so that the right-wing doesn't have to face their own hypocrisies, then the kind of thinking below is what's going to win the next election:

The switch has begun!

Please help do this ... refuse to accept these when they are handed back to you. I received one from the Post Office as change and I asked for a dollar bill instead. The lady just smiled and said, 'Way to go,' so she had read this e-mail. Please help out. Our world is in enough trouble without this too!

U.S.Government to Release New Dollar Coins

You guessed it

IN GOD WE TRUST' IS GONE!

If ever there was a reason to boycott something, THIS IS IT!

DO NOT ACCEPT THE NEW DOLLAR COINS AS CHANGE

Together we can force them out of circulation.

Please Send to all on your mail list!

3. Right, the ONLY reason the postal worker refused was because she saw this email
which was written after the guy came back from the post office.

4. Who even looks closely at the coins to see what they say?
I like the idea of dollar coins.

I travelled to New Zealand recently and they have dollar and two dollar coins, different sizes for those with impaired vision. Different size paper money too for the same reason.

Even better, they have done away with pennies and nickels, instead rounding up or down to the nearest 10 cents. Wish we would do that. Who needs pennies and nickels in your pocket when they don't buy anything. I wouldn't be surprised if they cost more to produce than their face value.

From like 2004, actually. The douchenozzles were unaware that the "In Gawd We Trust" nonsense was edge-inscribed.

Looks like both sides need to spend more time at Snopes.com. ;)

It's on the edge of the coin.

With all due respect to those with vision problems of all sorts.

Talk about manufactured outrage.

edit to add: I'd be tempted to replace it with a Susan B.

10. Apparently these dipshits can't read.
It's on the edge of the coin. Next year it will be back on the front of the coin due to their incessant whining about their stupid cloud being.

Fun thing is I could show them paper money from before 1955 that didn't have that stupid logo. Wouldn't that turn their small little world upside down.

:P

The country I live in introduced dollar coins years ago. Get this, we even have $2 coins! How I envy the person in that email who apparently has no greater problems in their life. I am just a poor furriner who must accept whatever coinage my government hands out.

23. I didnt' hear about that.
That's hilarious! I do recall there was a warning about not throwing the $2 coins at your toilet. IIRC, someone had a defective one that broke in two and sold it on ebay. Then the story got out that you could break them by flinging them at the toilet. Result: broken toilets across the land!

Who knew that metal trumps ceramic? :eyes:

16. The best defense is a good offense.
These people don't think they've done anything wrong. They don't believe their politics are flawed because they don't have to face the consequences for the way they behave. Nancy Pelosi could change that by doing her job. If they spend the next couple of months questioning if their leaders have led them astray, they'll at least hesitate long enough to stop the mudslinging, and might even start thinking about the issues.

It was due to a printing error at the treasury. They're worth a load of money if you can find them.

19. It's amzaing these people are able to get through the day.
This kind of critical thinking explains some of the stupid driving I see everyday, some of the awful mistakes people working in stores and businesses make all the time, and the reason there is nothing of value to watch on TV anymore.

She's far to busy to deal with your bullshit. She'd put the money on the counter and shout 'next'.
If you chose to leave it there, well that would be your problem.

30. Don't care about "In god...". But there is no need for a $1 coin.
The issuance of a $1 coin is likely motivated by vending machine operator's desire to raise prices. Nothing more.

Ever find yourself wishing for a pocket full of dollar coins? Wow, that's so much more convenient than paper bills or plastic! :eyes:

34. It's just cheaper to mint coins,
which last longer, than it is to use up paper and print bills, which wear out quickly. We have both $1 and $2 coins here, and most people are ok with them. I like them, but that's likely because they're not that heavy, they're easy to tell apart even if you're digging for them in the dark, and they don't tear.

36. Dollar coins make a lot of sense.
You make them once and they last for decades, instead of the 16 months or so a paper note lasts. They are also easier to use in vending machines, which experienced price changes with or without the dollar coin.

Really stupid people make me really tired.

On the other hand, maybe this kind of nonsense disproves evolution. These folks shouldn't even be able to feed themselves, yet they flourish and reproduce freely.
