CNN: Palin pastor thinks GOP may be downplaying Mooselini's religious beliefs
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 10:16 PM by Bluebear
Palin's former pastor says he has no doubt her religious beliefs will influence her decision making when it comes to government policy.

WASILLA, Alaska (CNN) -- For more than two decades, current Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was a practicing Pentecostal...

Palin's former pastor, Tim McGraw, says that like many Pentecostal churches, some members speak in tongues, although he says he's never seen Palin do so. Church member Caroline Spangler told CNN, "When the spirit comes on you, you utter things that nobody else can understand ... only God can understand what is coming out of our mouths."

Some Pentecostals from Assembly of God also believe in "faith healing" and the "end times" -- a violent upheaval that they believe will deliver Jesus Christ's second coming...

Pastor Ed Kalnin, the senior pastor of Palin's former Pentecostal church, has also come under fire for his comments. In 2004, he told church members if they voted for John Kerry for president, they wouldn't get into heaven. He told them, "I question your salvation."

1. Yikes! That picture creeps me out.
It would make a great CD cover, though.

25. Wow!
That'd be worth buying just for the cover. I'd want the LP so the art would be a foot square instead of on a tiny CD cover.

Speaking in tongues? Only God knows what you're babbling?

There is no other word for it. Psychotic.

Faith healing huh.....Is that their first and only move after a cancer diagnosis? Jackasses.

12. Gee, Obama was hammered for WEEKS about Rev. Wright
I wonder why no one is demanding answers from Palin herself for what she believes. It sounds like she believes a lot of stuff that most Americans would consider fringe to the point of lunacy. Obama was pilloried over and over again for snippets of Rev. Wright's sermons; sounds like Palin would have a real tough time explaining what her beliefs are, even given a lot of time.

But I don't see the Today Show leading off a solid week's worth of shows about it. Can't imagine why . . .

14. it's pretty amazing....
while Keith and Rachael both discussed it on their show,
in a pretty tame manner I thought...
Barack was raked over the coals for weeks about his pastor...
and the things he said...

here is her pastor stating that she will definitely govern with her faith's views,
....which are Christian fundamental extremist views...

and not a peek from MSM.

21. But then again, on Sunday morning
in my old neck of the woods, it was not uncommon to hear some Pentecostal minister on the radio speaking in half-toungues.

24. It's creepy to me
Because it looks like the skyline of Rochester NY (my hometown) - to include the old Lincoln First (AKA) chase manhattan building, Bausch and Lomb, and Frontier . . . Right when you are driving in on 490 west and heading into downtown . . .
