The top 10 political mistakes of the Conservative Movement and the Republican Party
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 07:43 AM by ck4829
When you and your family and friends vote this November, remember these 10 things about the Conservative Movement and the Republican Party!

10. Letting guys like Steve King (R-State of Insanity) speak
When we hear him say things like "terrorists will celebrate an Obama victory" and "we should turn our schools into indoctrination facilities for kids," the average self-respecting American gets a mixture of nausea, confusion, and disgust from hearing what he has to say.

9. Believing anything Bush says
He's not honest, 'nuff said. But it's creepy when people STILL treat him like Jesus' brother or something.

8. Abstinence Education
When the kids say "I don't KNOW how I got pregnant!," you know there is a problem.

7. Judith Reisman
Conservatives use her as an expert in reproductive affairs, she came up with the mythical "erototoxins" and said anyone who has high amounts of these 'toxins' should have their first amendment rights suppressed. She could never say what these toxins were at first, when she did name them, these big bad toxins were actually revealed to be normal proteins.

6. Energy Task Force
We know Enron and other corrupt energy officials consulted you with on this, Cheney. No amount of executive privilege can deny this.

5. Offshore Drilling
Apparently, Republicans want us to get off of our addiction to foreign oil... and get addicted to domestic oil. Republicans also stay mum on whose oil it will become when it is drilled, will it be our oil to decide what to do with, or Exxon's?

4. The US having ties to Italian leader, Silvio Berlusconi
His government or his allies came up with the Yellowcake Forgeries, there is no doubt about that. His goverment/media (The same thing with Berlusconi) is also running a campaign to stereotype the Gypsy population for all of Italy's problems. 1930's Germany anyone? It must be coincidental that Berlusconi has also called his movement the "new phalange" and has been accused of using fascist code-words to talk to more hard-core supporters.

3. Donald Rumsfeld
If the "surge" saved Iraq, it saved it from this guy.

2. The CNMI
Tom DeLay and other Republicans called this place a capitalist paradise. I wonder how one mixes slavery, forced prostitution, and forced abortions with capitalism anyway.

Iraq War
Republicans said "Everyone believed Iraq had WMDs at the time!" BUZZ!!!! Wrong! There was a guy, what was him name? Joe Wilson, remember him? But no, Republicans took the word of a psychopath with delusions of grandeur over Joe Wilson, and we will be paying for it for a long time.
Trick question, who was the psychopath with delusions of grandeur, "Curveball" or Bush?

1. Nice List
And per conservative doctrine, if anything went wrong by their actions they don't have to take responsibility for it.

2. I agree - great list. A couple of thoughts.

On #5, my understanding is that when oil companies get leases, they pay the US so much per barrel extracted - but, I also believe that it's a nominal amount, and then the oil companies get to keep the oil. Its a vague notion that I have that that's how it works.

On the Iraq War, I'm not sure Joe Wilson said Iraq did not have WMDs, he said Saddam was not trying to buy uranium from Niger. However, the UN inspectors were in Iraq and had not found any WMDs and said they would know for sure in another (I think) 2 months. An American who had been a UN inspector may have been saying that Iraq did not have WMDs (may be Scott Ritter - I'm not sure).
