does anyone believe anything Bob Woodward writes?

saw part of him on CNN talking about his new book.

catch this:

he says the neo cons have a new top, top secret trick that they used for the surge. it works wonderfully and if Woodward says one word about what it is - well, a top neo con "blanched" at the thought. and then Woodward smirked and I clicked the remote.

anyone else see this?

1. I saw it
And the neo-con that blanched was a 4 star general. I believe him and would not be surprised to learn that this "secret weapon" is the new nerve agent, dibilitating massive amounts of people simultaneously or soomething to that effect.

21. Hope the neocons do not bring whatever technique is home.
I believe much of what he says. And, I am deeply concerned about how we are "winning" in Iraq. Whatever they are doing in Iraq may be used at home by those who know and understand it - whatever it is. It doesn't sound like something to engender democracy there or here. I think it is time for a little transparency about what it is that is working so well.

9. I worked at a lodge in Wyoming where Bob Woodward stayed.

He and his wife in one cabin and the Governor of West Virginia at the time and his wife were in the adjoining cabin. The rumor among the housekeeping staff was that they were wife swapping. I'm not making that up.

16. does not surprise me.
at the party I was at, he was transparently hitting on several women, many of whom seemed flattered (ugh).

power and fame is a disgusting draw to some people.

3. Yes, I saw it too! Matter-of-fact I watched his entire interview by
Larry King last night. I was disappointed. Too much he said, she said type stuff. I think he's really pressing. I did think his recount of *'s general demeanor was interesting. * sounds like a beaten man!!

4. Question - I didn't see it (I was watching Rachel), but this
morning a friend told me that Woodward said the "October surprise" was going to be Bin Laden apprehended or killed. Is that true??

20. Thanks, snappyturtle. My friend made it sound like Woodward
knew this for a fact, but it sounds like it was just his opinion.

22. Well, his opinion may be that it's a possibility, maybe even a good one
that this could happen. Actually, I think many have thought the same thing. Was he telling us anything new? I don't think so.

5. Bob Woodward's job for the last quarter century
Go down onto the battlefield after the hostilities are over to shoot the wounded.

And then come back and smirk, insinuate and by commission and omission start another battle so it can all happen again. Oh, if only you knew all the things that Bob Woodward knows! He's on the inside, and has all the vital information. But he can't share it with the rabble. Our role is to die for misguided policies. Bob didn't set the rules, he just plays by them. And pockets a big paycheck.

8. He means like putting the insurgents on the payroll and buying them off
I'd rather pay them than kill them, but how long are we going to have to pay these people not to kill each other?

10. My thoughts too.
Will backfire too. Now they'll have dough to go and buy more RPGs from whatever armsdealer du jour is around in Iraq at the time.

15. I thought "Wired" was some excellent writing
Woodward did an amazing job covering the descent and death of John Belushi. He pissed the widow off, but he talked to everyone involved. His details regarding the autopsy results were the stuff anti-drug lectures are made of.

17. Woodward sold his soul long ago. He is now merely a deep cover asset
There are many that speculate that Woodward has since Watergate, been an asset of the Bush criminal empire. Some have offered that it was the Bush wing of the extremist right wing that took out Nixon by aiding Woodward's reporting at the time.

I think Woodward's books about GW Bush are nothing more than carefully calculated propaganda. He is a clean-up man for the Bush cabal. I have no doubt that any criticisms or revelations in his books have been fully analyzed to prevent any real damage to GW Bush, enhance and retain Woodward's cover as an impartial reporter and lay down a so-called "insider narrative" that deflects accountability away from Bush.

In short, I do not believe a word of what Mr. Woodward writes or says about anything.
