Al Franken was on the Ed Schultz radio show today.
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 02:05 PM by Eric J in MN
Franken said that he's leading Senator Norm Coleman (R-MN) by one point in a poll by Minnesota Public Radio.

Franken said that Norm Coleman is the kind of "moderate" who is "Always there when you don't need them" (Franken was quoting Tip O'Neill about phony moderates.)

In other words, Norm Coleman votes against Bush when he knows that Bush's agenda will pass anyway. Coleman has voted with Bush 88% of the time.

Franken said that Coleman supports tax cuts for the rich because he believes prosperity is created from the top.

Franken said that Democrats believe prosperity is created from the bottom and the middle. Better to have a million people buy pools than a guy with seven houses buy a pool.

5. Yes, it's been almost two years since Franken announced he's running.
We have a long process these days.

2. Oh, pleeeeeease, let Al win
Although I'm not in MN, I'm hoping his voice and intelligence make it to the Senate.

8. Oh, how I hope Franken beats Coleman
And not just because Franken so eloquently described how the right-wing smeared the Wellstone memorial service in Lies and the Lying Liars... in a way that made you realize just how personally Franken takes this.

And not just because there are so many blowhards, on the air and off, who've scoffed at Franken's bid, who've pissed on Franken since he took to the mic on AAR for that matter, who deserve to be humbled.

Not just those things. But mostly, yeah. Those things.
