Am I the only one to think it is a grave insult?
I sit here and read and watch the variety of clips, articles etc on Sarah Palin and her expertise relating to a VP position.

Hillery Clinton put 18 million cracks in the ceiling. And each one of those cracks were hard earned with service, with intelligence, and with a vision of a female role in the top echelons of politics. Hillery did not do this alone- she had allot of help from other women who, over the years have changed the dynamic of politics to be more accepting, more tolerant and thus more dynamic. There are allot of names that come to mind - and each of these women fought hard to where we are today. This change did not come easily, did not happen overnight, and continues to evolve.

Fast forward to John McCain nominating Sarah Palin for a role as VP. Former Ms. Alaska, Miss congeniality(?)a short role as governer and former mayor of a town of between 5000-9000(can't seem to get that number tied down) Am I the only one who sees this as a trophy VP? Not that unlike his current trophy wife. It insults me. And it ridicules all the hard work and efforts female politicians have made for equal access to the top positions of government - because she did not EARN her right to be there because of her expertise - she clearly lacks the substance needed - she was asked because she is pretty.

If it had been a male Alaskan governer and former mayor of Wassilla - clearly this individual would lack the credentials needed for a VP role - and so we must surmize that she was asked because she possesses ovaries and is beautiful. So the old boyz still rule the day - and we are falling all over ourselves trying to point out that she lacks the substance needed without pointing out the obvious, for fear of insulting her. But the truth is - John McCain has insulted every single breathing, living woman in America today. And he makes a mockery of the role of VP, and American politics in general.

2. Truthfully, I'm over it.
This nomination was a ploy, a distraction, from a campaign that is not about the issues. And the American public fell for it.

had Obama picked Hillary as his running mate we'd have never heard of Sarah Palin.

Unfortunately, at least right now with current polling of women, it's working. I'm not sure if that offends me even more. I'd expect a calculating move from republicans, but not the american women to fall for it.

IMO, we have to get the media to STOP talking about her personality... all the more people that actually know where she stands on the big ISSUES, the better. She is anti- SO many things that there are enough groups out there that wouldn't vote for her... if they only knew.

Anti-jewish (there was a big article about this today in reference to florida voters)
Anti-choice even in the case of rape and incest
Anti-equal pay for women
Anti-environment
Anti-animals
Anti-sex ed
Anti-new energy technology (ie., pro-oil)
Anti-separation of church and state

7. She's an insult to American women, McCain is
an ass for having foisted her on us, and the corporate whores - who are ridiculously trying to turn her into a "star"- are beneath contempt.

I would gladly buy Ms. Palin a one way ticket back to Wasilla provided she would promise to disappear and never be heard from or seen again.

8. From day 1 I was offended.. and I get enraged whenever I hear
more of the 'talking points,' and all the polls,
and all of the women who get all emotional.

Don't they get it?

Don't they see beyond the packaging?

Don't they have a clue that this election is
clue to our future?

Yes.. I am offended, enraged, BUT nor demoralized.

It's obvious that we are being sold a bill of goods.

And our electorate apparently ain't too sharp.
