My Small Part
In a recent post someone pointed out that they never or seldom get those big spammy email from the left, generally it's from the lunatic fringe on the right with some nutball accusation or hate filled screed.

I got to thinking about that and figured, really, there's no reason for that at all. We have the truth on our side, and a huge grassroots org of "boots on the ground" that could easily blanket these points, so we don't have to rely on the MSM. Plus, we tend to be much more witty... ;-)

So when I came across this article in Salon.com today, (link in message body below) I decided that this info needed to get out, and sent the email below to my entire address book. I have become...one of THEM!

And you know what? It feels pretty good. There wasn't this technology when I did some work for Clinton 1 so very many years ago.

It's just a small thing in my little universe, but I'm hoping that it will be like the pebble in the pond, so to speak. This plus phone banking, etc, will keep me fired up and away - I hope - from hand wringing. Below is the email I sent.

****************************************

Sorry for the blanket, but this is an important article that sums up one of the many problems with this Palin woman very well. She is scary, there is no hyperbole in that.

If you want to see the hyperlinks, go here http://www.salon.com/opinion/feature/2008/09/09/palin_fundamentalist/ If you are not a subscriber to Salon you'll have to go through a few pop up ads first, so I wanted you to have the article free of that at first.

Get this to anyone who is telling you they're going to vote Republican this year, especially a woman. People have got to understand what is at stake, and if they are getting "news" from Fox or not paying attention at all, they are not hearing these things. If they know and vote for McCain anyway, well, what can I say.

Thanks for listening. I will be campaining for Barack in high gear now until November, so I'm afraid you all may be getting some political stuff from me. I won't apologize for that though, this is too important.

Chris and I will be having an open house/party on Election Night, so keep that on your radar. I will have my Bop Bush punching bag out for one last beating!

Everyone is welcome, but there is a price for admission...VOTE!!! People who did not vote are not getting in the door.

You still have time to register if you haven't done so. In California, go here http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_vr.htm You can Google "register to vote <your state>" for elsewhere.

Thanks peeps!

Sue

2. It's a good piece without a doubt, however
I really don't see the folks that need to read it actually doing so. The nonsense spam emails that I get are actually pretty short (as is their attention span) and incredibly nasty in a variety of ways.

Nevertheless Thanks for the Link!:hi:

3. Yeah, the true believers won't, that's correct..
I'm thinking more of low info people, well meaning and intelligent but uninvolved and not hearing stories like this. Believe me, I know people like this. They are not necessarily stupid. Which, in a way, makes it more frustrating!
