It's an old story, a disgruntled employee who tried to shake down the McCain's for $250,000, and who then quit the whole thing. Nothing since has happened to make it relevant except that the same old disgruntled employee needs, for whatever reasons, to have the spotlight again.
I'd be just as cynical about someone pulling out an event from Obama's life from fifteen years ago, especially if it centered on allegations made by someone of questionable character. Gosinski is one person making charges that could not be proven then - one person can say anything, but you need others to corroborate - and they can't be proven now.

9. Let's get Rush on this story. With his experience and all the time he had to ... |
|
spend in jail for the same problem, I'm sure he'd see the irony of whole thing, especially given there are about 1 million Black guys in jail right now on various drug charges.
Oh, wait, never mind.

When will these well-connected people, with the same drug problems that others loess fortunatate than they are, face the same investigations and penalties and horrors as the less fortunate?
Either everyone faces the same music or no one does. You cannot expect a nation to hold together with two, unequal justice systems. Something is gonna blow.

And the title doesn't help. It's indicates NOTHING new.
Hopefully someone ELSE will pick it up and do better reporting/writing.

27. The Real Juice is that the whistlebower is talking and releasing his notes |
|
The press will want a piece of this.
All of the press already know that the whistle blower has cancer and is talking, they are just looking for some legitimacy before jumping on it. Now they know that it's an official Washington Post Report! They can say that they are following up on the Washington Post Article to cover their ASS if they get heat for bringing it up.

24. Cindy could have faced a possible 20 years.... |
|
"The DEA questioned the charity's doctors, and McCain hired John Dowd, a powerhouse Washington lawyer, to represent AVMT. Dowd had defended John McCain in the Keating Five scandal, helping the senator win the mildest sanction of the five senators involved. Dowd declined to comment for this article.
Soon, the DEA began looking at McCain. Dowd informed Johnson, the physician, that "there's been further investigation and Cindy's got a drug problem," Johnson told county investigators.
The DEA pursued the matter for 11 months. Dowd kept tabs on the investigation from Washington, writing letters and making frequent phone calls to the agency, according to sources close to the investigation.
McCain's conduct left her facing federal charges for obtaining "a controlled substance by misrepresenting, fraud, forgery, deception or subterfuge." Experts say she could have faced a 20-year prison sentence."

and the right-leaning readers are entirely too ready to forgive an error of conscience made so long ago. McCain just has to say "I was protecting my wife, almost like I'm protecting Sarah Palin now," and the story dies. The story may linger, but its effect on voters will be negligible.
