I just talked to someone who knows Sarah personally

It was a parent of a student who had just moved to Nevada. I asked her to tell me about Sarah Palin. She said Sarah was 3 years ahead of her in school. She took a very deep breath and said that she was very tough and mentioned playing basketball. I asked the mom if Sarah was truly a pit bull. The mom took another audible deep breath and said yes. She did admit that Palin cleaned up Wasilla. She said that the family received death threats during the mayoral tenure. Another audible deep breath. She repeated the 3 years ahead of her in school. Another audible deep breath. I took that to mean that this mom had a
run-in during high school with Sarah.

re death threats: because I read the court docs from her sister's divorce (the one where the judge accused Palin of child abuse) and there was no mention there of death threats. I am sure the media would have found those and she certainly would have blamed them on one of the many people she fired.

and undercurrents that do not get reported in the newspapers. When I go visit my parents and read the local newspapers, they fill me in on the information that does not get printed such as what happened first, second, and then the final incident. What comes before is always more interesting than the original incident.....

21. I'll never forget Esther. She was this girl at the Y where I had to

swim after recovering from rheumatic fever at the age of 8. Esther was really tough and one day after swim class Esther demanded that I kick her in the shins. I didn't want to kick her, but Esther was bigger than me, and so was her friend. So I kicked her. Then Esther told me to put on my shoes and kick her. Like I said, Esther was tough! So I put on my penny loafers and I kicked her. She wanted me to kick her harder, so I did. I guess it must have finally hurt her, because at that point she and her friend pushed me in the pool and tried to drown me. Luckily for me someone entered the pool area. Esther was bannished from the Y and I never wanted to go back again.

Esther was tough all right, but I sure as hell wouldn't want her for VP.
