Chris Matthews: Palin "Off the Reservation"
During a segment on Hardball tonight, Matthews can be heard saying that Sarah Palin is "off the reservation" in her reponse to Charlie Gibson's question about Israel. We need to hear more of this from the media who seem so timid about voicing their instinctual reactions to Palin's candidacy.

1. Well, if the corporate media insists on giving us their opinions

-- something I don't agree with -- then I'd prefer we hear more like this to counteract the nonstop gushing.

4. Isreal quote
GIBSON: What if Israel decided it felt threatened and needed to take out the Iranian nuclear facilities?

PALIN: Well, first, we are friends with Israel and I don't think that we should second guess the measures that Israel has to take to defend themselves and for their security.

GIBSON: So if we wouldn't second guess it and they decided they needed to do it because Iran was an existential threat, we would cooperative or agree with that.

PALIN: I don't think we can second guess what Israel has to do to secure its nation.

GIBSON: So if it felt necessary, if it felt the need to defend itself by taking out Iranian nuclear facilities, that would be all right.

PALIN: We cannot second guess the steps that Israel has to take to defend itself.

5. That's a "Chatty Cathy" response ... makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 01:23 AM by TahitiNut
She was obviously programmed to respond to "Israel" questions with the catch-phrase "second-guess" ... but it's non-sensical in response to a hypothetical scenario like that.

She's an imbecile.

6. If the US electorate wants to hire a puppet as 50/50 next president
then I'm afraid this country will get what it deserves.

The disgust I'd feel would lead me to extreme distancing measures, maybe Antartica..

12. "Rove Trained Seal Available for Conventions and other Entertainment Venues"
No we do not deserve it! But I cannot fathom a legal election where those freaks win.

10. That exchange reminded me of Kentucky Fried Movie
What are you saying?
Leave her... come back to Montana with me.
I could no sooner run away from her than myself.
I'm not asking you to run, I'm asking you to face reality!
Whose reality, yours or mine?
My reality AND yours, that's whose!
What are you saying?

So let me get this straight.

We can't second guess Israel when they attack another country but we "perhaps so" go to war with Russia over Georgia who may have provoked the conflict in the first place (Palin is claiming that it was unprovoked).

We support Georgia when they break away from Russia but not the Ossetians when they want to break away from Georgia?

Just checking...
