5. I noted last night

that the ad is careful to say "they desperately called her a liar". They used desperately, instead of "falsely called her a liar". You would think that if Mika were so fucking "concerned" about sexism (snerk), then she would understand that the ad is being completely manipulative and unfair to women in general. But no. Feminist Mika only cares about Gibson and his "condescending, sexist" tone.

12. OK - everyone seems to be missing the very big point of that ad

If they wanted it to be about sexism towards Palin, they would have used the word "Condescending" which far better denotes sexism.

Instead they used the word "Disrespectful" and showed Obama's picture.

"Disrespectful"?! They are saying a black man is being "disrespectful" of a white woman.

People who know their history know that one of the most horrific lynchings in American history was the lynching of Emmet Till who was lynched for being "disrespectful" of a white woman when he whistled at her.

THAT is what I am taking away from this ad.

Focusing on "liar" is not the point. The word "Disrespectful" is the point. I think it is a clear shout out to racism.

This is classic old skool racism. Black men "back in the day" (you know, most of McCain's life) were supposed to RESPECT white women. This is a very thinly veiled reference, as you point out. We should have our own ad out there pointing that fact out. Thanks for the post.

she's hiding over 1,100 emails
