6. That's more like it
Barack has tons of real stuff to fight back on without falling into the pukes mud pit with them.
I'd like to see one about Iraq also. Just because we finally have some decrease in violence doesn't make it a victory and never will.
It was wrong from day one, and it's still wrong.

12. That's more like it. Would have liked to see mention of fact that number of
lobbyists doubled under Bush. And mention of Abramoff would be good. Nobody except CEOs like lobbyists and there's so much to be said about the issue. Maybe in next ad...

14. Nice! I'm so glad the ad included the face of Nancy Pflotenhaur (?)
becuase she's all over the cable shows. This should make people aware of who she is - a lobbyist for Koch Industries.

27. Wasn't that genius?
Taking on her credibility and motivations. I saw it and immediately it hit me like the "sister/daughter" scene from China Town. Can you see them slapping McCain around asking who she is? And he responds, She's my spokesperson. (slap) She's my lobbyist. (slap) Spokesperson/lobbyist. boo-hoo.

Of course, we can't do that because McCain was a POW who spent five and a half blah, blah, blah but I can think it.

They do need to show how real people will be picked up when he takes office, but knocking down McCain doesn't hurt either. Glad he's focusing on the actual candidate, not some shiny object distraction.

17. I cross posted this thread in a GDP thread to
calm the hell down all the hand wringers. I think Obama's Change and Still ads were the soft touch to lead up to this ad, which dispels McCain's lying about his desire for change, imho.

20. That's a REALLY good spot!
And, it attacks McCain's hyprocracy, not whether or not McCain "insulted" a member of Obama's ticket. :eyes:

Nice compromise. Tough, but not dirty.

An aside -- I love the voice talent they're using.

21. And the funniest part yet
When I went to the link to watch it, the ad ran with one of those automated ad beneath it. So, I got to see McCain's picture with the caption:

I "Hate" my Yellow Teeth

The Secrets Dentists don’t want you to know about Teeth Whitening!

22. Beautiful and the timing is impeccable
They've allowed the McCain campaign to establish that it has gone negative despite pleas to stop. This has opened the door for them saying the "gloves are off" and hitting them with factual information that they don't want to talk about or have people know.

The timing is great because it is after Labor Day and people are starting to pay attention to politics. It also comes on the heels of the pathetic performance that Palin gave (which only help push the "was she even vetted?" story) and the other questions surrounding her and McCain's veracity. They're getting hit with even more stuff that they're not being able to respond to quickly enough. The Obama-Biden ticket, imho, is building on the momentum which is shifting in their direction.

30. problem with using Keating Five reference
Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 01:10 PM by radfringe
not enough people understand what it was and what was involved. If you asked any person on the street about the keating five, the most likely response would be "in what respect, Charlie?"

you would need to "educate" people about the Keating Five before being able to use it effectively

34. This ad gets an A+
I am happy with this one, unlike the computer one, that does not go far enough to detail McCain's lack of skill with technology, and therefore his lack of access to information and a useful means of communication.
