US exporting gas at record levals

September 12, 2008

While the White House and most conservative congressional leaders have been pushing for more offshore drilling to relieve record fuel prices at the pump, new government data shows there is no domestic oil shortage as U.S. oil companies are exporting American petroleum products at record levels.

The U.S. Energy Department reported exports of finished petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel fuel and jet fuel, soared to 1.592 million barrels per day in May, up 31 percent from a year ago.

Exports equaled about half the 3.2 million barrels per day in petroleum products that the U.S. imported during May.

U.S. oil companies shipped 183,000 barrels of gasoline a day out of the country, even as America saw prices at the pump steadily rise.

U.S. exports of diesel fuel reached 444,000 barrels a day in May, a record for any month and four times higher than a year ago.

1. Drill, baby, drill!
So we can send it all overseas! Yeah, that'll fix the problem... :eyes:

We must get these people out of positions of power!

2. That's right.
Drilling only benefits the "profits" of big oil companies, and will not lower the prices here! Big oil, and the republicans in congress who are bought and paid for by big oil, want americans to believe that more drilling will bring prices down here in the U.S., they fail to mention "facts" that prove otherwise!

This is the last big chance for big oil to get more drilling rights, and the high prices we are paying is just on tactic they are using, along with lies about who will really benefit from more drilling!

3. A RWer told me that if Pelosi would just let us drill offshore the prices would drop.
When I said that our patriotic oil companies were exporting more oil than ever that kinda shut her up.

We have to get this message out.
