4. I've been feeling that metaphor a lot since Sarah Strangelove got the nod.

It feels like we're in an episode of the Twilight Zone where the good, truthtelling candidate suddenly loses to the phony, tell-em-what-they-want-to-hear idiot. The final shot of the episode is the idiot panicking in some international crisis, and launching the nuclear missiles, ending the world.
