is seriously pissing me off. How old is that little girl? Two? Three?

Some people do not deserve to have children.

:grr:

9. I know, right?!
WTF. Even if you can't afford to totally evacuate, you could at least take the kids as far away from danger as you can. Standing right in front of those insane waves and the oncoming storm surge while holding your toddler and smirking at the surge is about as irresponsible and disgusting as it gets.

Christ. I'm absolutely shaking. I usually loathe the idea of CPS getting involved when there isn't clear and blatant abuse/neglect going on, but so far as I'm concerned, THIS qualifies. Are there no police officers left down there? Why would they even LET people with kids get that close to the water??

11.  Just heard that rescue operations will continue

as long as they are able too. I imagine they are pretty busy now. I hope that little one isn't a rescue and mom got her out of harm's way.

2. Yes - clearly unfit to be a parent
If they were unable to evacuate for some legitimate reason, then the government and all of us as a societ have let her down.

But I suspect that this is more of the "I didn't want to leave because my house might be destroyed" nonsense that I've heard OVER AND OVER again today on the news.

5. I understand that some people are too poor to leave.
But that doesn't mean that you have to stand right in front of the damned waves with your toddler. My GOD. I have never seen so many people acting this stupid about a hurricane. How many kids have we seen playing around on the seawall today with their parents? Kids whose parents obviously didn't really care enough about them to at LEAST keep them as far from the water as they could.

I mean, god-fucking-damn. It burns me up.

:grr:

17. You're damn right - I'm incensed
I can't believe this. I watched all day and people interview and carry about like its a fun little experience. Kids of all ages just following their parents around without a choice. They would say "ah, we aren't leaving because we don't want to come back to nothing" or "we rode out storms before, so we're staying and not scared" while the kids would either be oblivious or you could detect a sense of uncertainty and fear in their eyes and demeanor.

It's god damned pathetic. I'm not religious or a believer, but I hope someone or something has mercy on these kids and spares them from their idiotic parents, who are supposed to look out for their best interests.

3. But Jesus loves the little babies
Yeah, that wouldn't go over well in my state I can assure you. They want to break up families here if the kid sneaks out to play while the parent fell asleep. Where is common sense?

8. One of my vivid childhood memories is on us piling in the convertible and driving
to watch a hurricane.. We were on a very high bluff, and the rain hit with such force that it actually left red marks on my arm.. I must have been about 5.. when the wind threatened to rip the ragtop off the car, we retreated...

I was also "taught to swim", by being tossed into a wave in the Pacific ocean..I was about 3 at the time.. The rationale? probably would not drown, since the waves would bring me into shore ..:grr:

Just makes me INSANE. She is so damned fortunate to have a healthy, gorgeous baby and she is...what the FUCK is she doing?

My children would be SCREAMING in those conditions at such a delicate age. Just appalling.
