CNN Reporting: Fire in storage area on Galveston Island...
We can only hope this doesn't involve gasoline refining or distribution.

Can you say $7.00 gasoline?

1. Looks like a marine fuel depot
for local boaters. The surge will put it out.

They need to get the first responders the hell off that island.

2. local news here in Houston just reported that the storage facility
is for storing boats and their equipment. Galveston mayor says there are diesel tanks involved, but because of the water that has flooded Galveston, they can't get to it to douse it.

However, here is a picture currently on CNN that I believe looks like a home:

4. Yeah, that doesn't look like anything that'll cause $7.00 gas
However, it is ominous...as we're seeing disaster unfold, and we're not even into the 2nd inning. :(

5. personally, after seeing what they are showing on local TV here in Houston
I think there may be something else going on, other than this home. There seems to be something going on near the yacht club on Galveston island. News reporters are saying that the fire is actually in a building next door to a school. A transformer blew and ignited diesel fuel and that is what is causing that much bigger fire. Firefighters are kept 300 feet away because of water that has flooded the area.

3. That part of Texas is beyond fucked
they might as well start re-drawing the roads and zones.
