I'm praying for the Campbell family in Galveston who are staying behind
because of their animals. Fox News was going to try to check up on them as the night progresses.

1. Best wishes and good vibes for the Campbell family
I hope that they are spared along with their animals. We are watching something that could be unlike anything that we have seen before.

2. I wonder if they have an idea what they are in for. Mr. Campbell seemed
intelligent and well spoken. He said he and his wife have two teen agers to help out and some neighbors had joined them at his house which he felt was well placed, in terms of its solidity. I only hope he's right.

3. I hope they come out alright.
This would be my situation if that had come up Tampa Bay.

What was their situation with their animals? Numbers? Inability to get them in anywhere?

6. I came in on the story a tad late and missed the details. I don't know why
they couldn't load them into the car - maybe there are a lot of them? Dogs, cats, etc. and don't travel well together?

4. Oh god.
You get mad at the people who leave their animals, but what are you to say about people who'd risk their lives for them. Damn. If I believed in a god, I'd pray for them, but all I can do is hope they will all be fine.

9. I'll pray - you offer your good wishes. I pray for a lot of "crazy" stuff - like
world peace and even my enemies!

5. Don't pray for fools...
It only encourages them.

11. Unbelievable and disgusting
For a community of progressives, I've seen more people acting like Freepers and their ilk tonight than I ever thought was possible. Sure, these people should have evacuated but wishing their death and ill-will is downright pathetic and quite honestly, inhuman.

Aren't we supposed to be better than this?

10. Shepherd Smith was the one who had the story. I'm not "up" on all the cable
stations. He just said his network would try to keep tabs on them all night and 'wished them well.

15. They have children?
And they stayed behind?

Please tell me that isn't so... Please. Because that is the most horrific thing a parent can do to a child if that is so. I'm sorry. Kids come before pets. Flame away.

16. if they survive
I hope they will consider investing in crates for the critters. They'll travel just fine together if they each have their own private space.

17. Depending on their circumstances, I'd be right there with them
and do admire them for thinking so much of their animals, but if they were just stubborn and could have gotten out with their animals, then that would piss me off. Good thoughts going their way whatever the circumstances.
