After taking in some of Charles Gibson’s interviews with the Republican vice-presidential nominee, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, Paul Begala sounded ready to cast his vote.

“I thought one person on my television screen looked ready to assume the presidency,” Mr. Begala, the CNN commentator, said by telephone on Friday. “It wasn’t Governor Palin.”

2. One commentator on CNN,

whose name I don't recall, was speaking to the notion that some folks liked her because she was just like them. He said something to the effect that since we're talking about the role of vice-president of the United States, it wasn't like Gibson was interviewing someone from a prison release work program(!) That's the level of incredulity on the part of professional journalists in this case.

3. I'll tell you what. Paul Begala has been letting fly with some real ZINGERS lately. Sarcastic wit

of the highest order. Is he always so pithy?

I remember seeing him a few times during the primaries and all he did then was pith me off with his Obama bashing.

Now I really really like him.

5. Begala has been pithy for many years...

Whether you like or dislike him has to do with whether you like or dislike the subject of his pithy remarks.

The same goes for James "Lizard King" Carville.

7. Good point about the "Lizard King". I love that one.

I saw Carville tear some Republican representative a new one the other day. That guy is phenomenal. But I hated him during the primaries. LOL.
