The McCain campaign is really desperate..
I have my own blog and I use to get a lot of trolls, in any case I have an IP blocker on it. I noticed the other day, every time I post something about Palin. Someone would come on and respond, trying to dispute my facts. Today I posted McCain's comments: "I admire mayors. Listen, mayors have the toughest job, I think, in America.

It's easy for me to go to Washington and, frankly, be somewhat divorced from the day-to-day challenges people have.”

Sure enough some guy calling himself David K came on and said I took McCain out of context. I checked David's IP address and he works for the Senate. He's trying to pretend to be an average voter. I'm so sick of these people lying. I called him out on my blog. I want him to know that I'm well aware of who he is and what he's trying to do.

2. This is called "astroturf" in the parlance.
It means "fake grass roots". The GOP is well known to pay a lot of money to PR firms that specialize in astroturf, who have people that fan out across the Internet and jump on articles and comments. If you have ever noticed that articles that are critical of repukes seem to have frothers that seem to get the first or second comments time after time, well, that's astroturfers at work.

6. But why did they send the dumb ones to DU?
The DU trolls are so transparent that they practically ban themselves.

5. Either desperate or cocky racist religious nuts
Maybe they think they can get away with anything, like stealing the election or electing any bimbo they want and there is nothing we can do about it, given that none of the self-identifyiong "conservative" voters really care about anythingt but labels and they own a vast share of the media that many areas of the country get to listen to.
