Help! Trying to find anecdote posted on DU about searching under the light instead of in dark bushes

It was posted on DU in the last few days in regard to preaching to the choir vs. going out and talking to persuadable voters. Would someone help me locate that story? I want to use it in my office.

1. I didn't see it at DU, but there is a joke which goes:

One night, a cop sees a drunk on his knees near a lamp post.

The cop asks him what he's doing.

The drunk says, "Looking for my keys."

The cop says, "Did you drop them here?"

The drunk says, "No, I dropped them in the alley over there."

The cop says, "Then why are you looking for them here?"

The drunk says, "Because the light is better here."

2. I think of that as a parable. If it weren't so common, it might be a joke.
