Big Oil thieves strike again !
Gasoline in my area was $3.60 a gallon Thursday. I filled up
yesterday for $3.95. I was out this morning and all the stations
were charging $4.45.

And I am in GA, well away from Ike. With friends like the Texas
Oil Sheiks, the American consumer can't afford any enemies.

4. Price gouging. I don't think the hurricane has anything to do with this. At least not yet.
Anyone remember instances of gas prices rising after hurricanes in the past? I mean huge price increases, that is? I sure don't.

3. I topped off and bought 20 gallons in gas cans Thursday night in Maine.
While I was filling the cans, another driver asked - is it going to be that bad?

I said "Yup"....

5. I'm in Georgia, too...
I filled up for $3.71 on Thursday evening. When I drove home from work yesterday evening (~ 2 miles) I saw stations selling regular unleaded for between $4.19 and $4.59. Not only that, but the gas stations were overflowing with customers. The place charging $4.19 (Murphy USA, the Wal-Mart gas station) had police officers directing traffic at its entrance. I stopped at the place charging $4.59 for a pack of cigs, and asked if I was reading the price of gas right...the lady was like "Yea, it's Ike...and we've been getting threatening phone calls all day long." Yea, no shit!

:wtf:
