Ike caused "a few deaths," surges: Chertoff

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said there were unconfirmed reports of "a few deaths" from Hurricane Ike, which slammed the Texas coast on Saturday.
