The best way to overcome poll "jitters"..... |

...find your closest friends, asked if they've been polled, chances are the answer is 'no.' Ask them to ask a few more people if they've been polled. I know it sounds like a pyramid, about the third or fourth level you'll probably have about a 1000 people in your very unscientific survey then you can correlate the results against the probability that the "polls" are accurate.
I'm betting there are a lot of pollster organizations that are out or work come the end of November.

a better way to deal with poll jitters is to volunteer with the Obama campaign. OK, maybe you are in a solid red or blue state, but then why not help one of the local races? Surely there is a competitive congressional, senatorial, gubernatorial or state legislative race in your district or an adjacent one.
