3. Kick for activism beating crying the blues
I'm off to bed. I'll be deeply disturbed at DU if in the morning there's still crying on the first page and this about what to do has sunk out of sight.

4. OMG. An "all is lost" post w/171 replies sits at the top of the page, and
only one person* other than me (OP) can be bothered to kick a post about ways to protect the election?! What exactly is wrong with you people? Seven weeks from the election, you all are ready to abandon hope, but not willing to spare a little kick to encourage people to keep fighting? Pathetic.

*Thank you very much ColbertWatcher

7. As an Ohioan, I would like to also add that the Democratic Party has important rolls
for individuals. Poll workers have an INSIDE view & AUTHORITY to what is going on within the precincts. Election observers are also being trained. The Ohio Dem Party has several full time Election Protection employees (thank you Howard Dean for knowing how important this area is).

8. Yes indeed. My local dem headquarters is doing a lot to get people registered properly, let them
know how to make SURE that they definitely are registered and stay that way, having observers at polling locations, etc. etc. They are always happy to get volunteers. And it's a lot of fun, and very encouraging to hang out with other committed Dems. I volunteer many evenings after work* - even an hour or two makes a difference. What do any of us have that's more important to do for the next seven weeks?

*weeknight volunteers are particularly needed in most areas. Turn off the tube for a few nights.
