but yeah...it's odd that Obama and Palin are being paired off like SHE'S the one who's running for Prez.

And I got to thinking the other day about her religion and how it seems like the religion she espouses has women in a subservient position to their husbands...what do we really know about her husband? I mean, if she gets to be VP and even (god forbid) president someday, wouldn't that, by reason of her religion, make her husband de facto VP or president?

Because it sure does sound like, as governor of Alaska (and mayor of Mooseturdville) she allowed him to play a slightly inappropriate part in her administrations....

Because I've been to plenty of "conservative" sites and have either been gang-tackled, or outright banned. Or, at the very least, put on moderation....and why? Because my viewpoints differed markedly from the viewpoints of the owners of those particular sites.

I wasn't even bashing anyone, or using coarse language. Just expressing my opinion.

And really...even here there isn't always agreement on all the issues, even amongst people who belong to the same Party. As opposed to some of the "conservative" sites I've been to where everyone...literally everyone except outsiders...spouts the same parrot-speak talking points.

I was accused of being a troll during the '04 campaign cause I had a low post count and often critiqued Kerry. ( i.e. from th POV of what I thought he was doing wrong.)

Point is: there are some seasonal trolls but there are lots of new DEMs brought in by the excitement of the race. The hyper-sensititvity of some on the board toward real and imagined trolls was just as high in '04.

My take: real trolls are no biggie. Just ignore 'em.

I enjoy getting into it with them sometimes. I got into it with one of them on the fair tax BS around the time I was arguing with a friend of mine about the same thing. It helps sharpen the debate skills.

Other times they're just annoying but they help sharpen my verbal abuse skills.

Just like this year, it was a infestation following the conventions and around the debates. Remember, there are a couple of websites that aren't mentioned that spend much of their time watching what goes on here and brag about their "raids".

I get a kick out of 'em...most are "gonna show us"...or think they've got this place in disarray.

I'll admit I'm suspect of someone with a low post count (under 100)...and I always applaud those who donate to the upkeep of this place...a star shows they're taking a little piece of responsibility by becoming a member. Yes, I understand about those who can't afford (especially in these days)...and I've helped several DU'ers get their stars and will do so again, but even a small donation does show this is someone who wants to be a part of the community.
