2. Proud To Be An American...

the picture clearly shows a tattered Texas flag. However, if you look closely, I am fairly certain you will see the remains of another flag that was flying above the state one. Look more closely. That was the star spangled banner.

Doubtless displayed by some weepy at Lee Greenwood, bashing Michelle Obama types

9. You Don't Leave The Flag Flying
you're supposed to take your flag down during a storm. People talk about loving this country, being proud of this country and flying the flag, but don't know this. It's the hypocrisy that bugs me - the fake demonstrations of patriotism.

I'm in Central Florida and when the first squall lines for Hurricane Charley came through, I noticed one of my neighbors was still flying their American flag. I went out in the storm to get it. Fortunately, the neighbor also came out and we got it down and she took it inside.

Perhaps this sounds insensitive when people lost lives and property. To me, though, it's a symbol of so much

4. How will FEMA handle this situation now? Will they say "Houston, Galveston,
...you are on your own"?

8. I was reading an article from the online HC last night....
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 08:04 AM by rainbow4321
And they mentioned a woman who walked by some shop that was destroyed. It had sold hand made trinkets of different shapes (fish, etc..).
They wrote something like "as she picked up souvenirs from Ike on the shop's lawn". Um, OK...so it is LOOTING in New Orleans but in Texas it's "collecting souvenirs"????????????
