National Enquirer: The Paper of Record
Now that the MSM has almost totally abrogated its responsibility to the People of the United States, let us on this football-ridden Sunday (Except for Houston of Course) thank the Staff of the Enquirer for seeking the truth and having the guts to publish it.

This from the Newspaper which used to bring headlines such as:

I Ate My Baby Because God Told Me To

I first saw this story in the 60's, but it has taken on new meaning in my brain these days.

1. I have a friend who works for the Enquirer, and she says...
...there's a cast iron policy stating that articles about people who can sue must be meticulously researched and verified. Articles about people (or things) who can't sue can be completely made up. So, whenever you read one of their articles, ask yourself, "can the subject of this sue if it's untrue?" If the answer is yes, then the article is very probably accurate.

2. Of course...
they saw their opening with the collapse of the MSM and dove in. Sort of like the way that Larry King became, for a while, the place to which politicians would go (after Perot started it) for exposure. That of course has changed, but this is their niche now. Good for them.

3. the Carol Burnett lawsuit changed everything there
They are now careful and meticulous, because they don't want to repeat that experience. My friend used to be a reporter for the Washington Post, and he says the Enquirer has more fact-checkers than the Post does.

.... The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively that Sarah's oldest son, Track, was addicted to the power drug OxyContin for nearly the past two years, snorting it, eating it, smoking it and even injecting it.
