FEMA not getting supplies to the area for first responders...food, portapotties, wanting to know who dropped the ball. Promises not kept. He is PISSED.

Says he is ringing firebells and Houstonians are bringing supplies and food to first responders b/c FEMA has fucked up. Again

and there are a hundred buses idling there.

8. "FEMA's first responsibility is to take care of the first responders"
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 03:09 PM by rainbow4321
because they cannot help locals til they are taken care of.
Buses sitting idle, FEMA not using them.

Ooooohhhh.

Direct verbal fire at federal government being at fault.

10. M$M, pick this up!
Shocking but not surprising. Do we start food drives across the country to air lift into Texas? Local Congress Rep collected food, water, diapers, etc. here after Katrina.

11. That was a righteous rant ...

I hate that this is happening, but I think everyone suspected some shit like this was going down ... and I'm certain this is not the worst of it.

However, I'm glad someone finally took his or her television time to illuminate the problems rather than sit there spouting platitudes about how great we all are. (Yes, I'm looking at you Rick "check out my hair" Perry.)

12. Reporters asking about this now at Goodhair's press conference.
He also weaseled out of direct questions about lack of information and restricted access to Bolivar and West End.

14. Chertoff seems more befuddled by the minute...
Time to replace him with Ben Bernanke, a real pro in disaster management like Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Bear Stearns... Lehman Bros. anybody?:sarcasm:

15. FEMA is taking Houston, while the state handles the other areas?
Seems like the biggest disaster areas are places like Galveston that are outside the city limits. And the city of Houston itself probably has ample resources to deal with the stricken areas within city limits.

It appears FEMA is still a useless organization.

19. KHOU just said that the first responders now have enough...
Food and water at Tully Stadium...thanks to **Houstonians** bringing in food and water/supplies, **no thanks** to FEMA.

They repeated what Culberson said in his press conference.

Wish he would give another press conference to confirm or deny this himself.
