1. Read "The Handmaid's Tale." That's Sarah Palin's America.

3. My wife was mentioning something about that. Her biggest fear is that
re-education centers will be for "liberal-un christian-like" women of the country. In her nightmare she was being drag into a van with other women to be taught how to be a good wife. Those who fought too hard where shot dead on the spot. If the husband protested to much he was shot.

4. I'd be an Unwoman sent to clean up nuclear waste dumps..
...I'm agnostic, unmarried, non-domestic (so I couldn't be a Martha) and was fixed a long time ago. I'd serve no purpose in Sarah's America.

Scariest. Book. Ever.

10. Hear, Hear - A Telling Book That Foretells Life In A Palin America
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 04:29 PM by lostnotforgotten

http://www.amazon.com/Handmaids-Tale-Novel-Margaret-Atwood/dp/038549081X

"In a startling departure from her previous novels ( Lady Oracle , Surfacing ), respected Canadian poet and novelist Atwood presents here a fable of the near future. In the Republic of Gilead, formerly the United States, far-right Schlafly/Falwell-type ideals have been carried to extremes in the monotheocratic government. The resulting society is a feminist's nightmare: women are strictly controlled, unable to have jobs or money and assigned to various classes: the chaste, childless Wives; the housekeeping Marthas; and the reproductive Handmaids, who turn their offspring over to the "morally fit" Wives. The tale is told by Offred (read: "of Fred"), a Handmaid who recalls the past and tells how the chilling society came to be."

6. It should be taken further:
You carry the baby to term ------------> Baby is born with birth defects.

You most likely are a teenager, how will you support the child? No medical insurance, you say? Tough shit. Palin/Republics believe you should pull yourself up by your bootstraps.

Besides, once a kid enters the world, they have no further responsibility to it. You're on your own now. Palin will no longer determine what you should do.

7. Minor correction
Palin believes that life begins at "CONCEPTION"....not "contraception."

Good chart though.

I wanted to forward it to my non-DU reading email list, so I fixed it. If you want a copy of the corrected jpeg, PM me.
