A bit of a morale boost
Well, for me, anyway. :P

My parents are upstate this weekend, visiting my dad's parents - grandfather, 95, has just been moved into an assisted living facility due to Alzheimers, which obviously isn't the morale boost.

I was on the phone with my mom, talking about how things were up there and about the election in general, when she told me that Grandma Gen is just crazy about Obama.

I don't know what my grandfather thinks - or if he even knows the general election is coming up, or who's running - but my grandmother has stated, gushingly, that "That crook in the White House will be gone, and Obama is going to be the next president."

It honestly left me speechless. My grandparents on my dad's side are conservatives and life-long Republicans. Very conservative, voted for Nixon and still defend him to this day kind of Republicans, never voted for a Democrat in any election their entire lives.

And she loves Obama.

:woohoo:

2. *shameless kick*
I know there are, I've met many Republicans for Obama lately. I just never suspected Grandma Gen to be one of them. :D

4. These are the people who may lose their votes
We talk a lot about election fraud here, but what's often missed is that it's not Democrats in traditionally democratic locations getting screwed - it's the people like your grandparents who are traditionally conservative in traditionally conservative areas, who are looking to make a switch.

The GOP will flip their votes to Republican, then shrug and say "well, the Democrats had a nice lead, but once people got in the booth..." and nobody will bat an eye - 'cause the people in question are "red staters"

Your grandmother, and the thousands of other like-minded people with her, are the ones at risk of voter fraud. Keep an eye out.

Keeping to the shadows, staying out of daylight, watching and observing. Y'know, the usual.
