Chertoff wiggling incompetently before an angry Houston press! Anybody else see it?
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 06:36 PM by elehhhhna
It was live on our local Houston stations.

At 5:00 ish I watched the local Houston press tear up Chertoff b/c FEMA ain't here, can't say when they will be, then he tried to blame the Mayor (I guess) for not "Telling them what to do", and then had the GALL to say he was SURPRISED Houston asked FEMA today to deliver the freaking supplies all around. WHO's in charge of the trucks, Chertoff?

Government WORKS FINE. REPUBLICANS in government DON'T.

4. Yep. COuldn't say when, from where, etc. & the press BUSTED HIS ASS
b/c they'd all called FEMA last week (as did the Mayor, State Reps., etc.) and were PROMISED "Don't worry, we have everything covered." Repeatedly.

Gosh I hope there's a youtube of it.

15. It also sounds like "I'll respect you in the morning."
Wait a minute. Isn't this the same FEMA who didn't respect New Orleans after Katrina? Houston now expects the same respect?

17. Bush actually said that.
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 07:25 PM by intheflow
Bush actually said that on the one-year anniversary of Katrina -- to the mayor of a destroyed town. :grr:

7. Well hope it makes the national
media, cause if it doesn't it won't get fixed and the sheeple won't have a clue. Had CNN and MSNBC on here most of the day. Saw it was bad but the message coming out is though bad things are under control and people are getting all the help they need.

9. One of the best parts, btw was
the mayor, a congresswoman & Chertoff spoke in that order, but the Mayor cut his own remarks OUT and tossed the floor to the press with "any questions they have for Mr. Chertoff."

Gotta love Bill White.

10. Chertoff is in that job for one reason...
And one reason only: To turn the DHS into a repressive national police force and to implement spying against the citizenry. He has NO experience in disaster management, has no experience in hiring people to effect disaster management in a coherent and cohesive fashion and he has evinced no desire to learn. He was a federal prosecutor in NY State South(NYC). All he knows is playing Elliot Ness. Badly.

A friend of mine is also does some contract work at one of his homes. Both he and his wife are terrible, nasty, horrid people and his staff are, to a person, cloacal-licking idiots to these reptilians.

Put it all together and Michael Chertoff may well be the last person to want to have in that job. Mean, nasty, Bush ass-kisser and compassionless.

23. Welcome to the "Blame the Democrat Leader" episode
of the "We Don't Know What To Do -- We're Only Here For the Photo-Ops" show, written, directed, & produced by the White House spin doctors.

Been there, done that with a Democratic governor & mayor.

26. Chertoff was awful.
Then Perry blamed the local government for prohibiting news copter flyovers-right before he blamed the feds. Nick Lamson, though-was incredible in his interview.
