Help wanted! Blabber mouths needed! Have you got the gift of gab?
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 08:49 PM by Breeze54

There's so much at stake in this election -- fixing our economy, solving the energy crisis, dealing with climate change, and restoring America's position in the world.

You and I know that. But John McCain is trying to distract voters from the real issues. And he's willing to take the low road by making cheap personal attacks and lying outright about Barack and his record.

It's up to each of us to talk to voters across the country and make sure they know what this election is really about.

We have an exciting new tool called Neighbor to Neighbor that makes it easy to talk to potential supporters about Barack and the issues that matter.

Help get the conversation back on track today by making phone calls.

Nothing is more powerful than having undecided voters hear from ordinary people. And right now, that's needed more than ever.

No prior experience is required. Neighbor to Neighbor gives you a list of potential supporters, suggested topics to talk about, and an easy way to report back on who you've contacted.

With less than eight weeks until Election Day, we can't allow voters to lose focus on the big issues and get swept up by the smears and lies coming out of the McCain campaign.

Reach out to fellow voters now and grow this movement for change:

Thanks,

I've been planning on it!

1. The campaign provides a script to help
in these cold calls to people on the lists. The script is helpful, easy to use. I had some decent conversations with some people yesterday, making calls from a campaign office. While it is amazing that there are people still out there who have not decided, we can help people make a good decision during one of these phone calls. The campaign is DEPENDING ON VOLUNTEERS. The office I worked at was friendly, energized, and encouraging. Set shyness aside and dive in. It is a good time.

2. Yeah, been doing it for years now... I'll be calling from home though.
It's much easier. Glad you're actively involved! :hi:

Are you having a MoveOn Birthday and calling party?

On Sunday, September 21st, we're organizing hundreds of "MoveOn for Obama" calling parties nationwide. We'll reach out to every MoveOn member in every swing state to help them sign up to volunteer for Obama. If we can mobilize tens of thousands of volunteers for Obama in key states, we'll help push Barack over the top in November.

Plus, next week is MoveOn's 10th birthday, so we'll celebrate with cake and ice cream after we're done calling!

MoveOn members in your area will be eager to help, but they need somewhere to gather.

Can you sign up to host a "MoveOn for Obama" party?

7. And...
The director of the Obama office north of me said that she wanted names of activities directors of nursing homes and assisted living places in the county. Then, she will contact the activities directors in order to set up info sessions on Obama's policies that impact seniors. The activity directors should welcome people of both parties providing info. If the M. campaign fails to do this, then so what? At least we will be there. Some of you out there might want to do the same. Also, I think we need to make sure that the dem. seniors have rides to vote on Nov. 4 if they do not vote absentee. The issue of their opportunity to vote needs to be addressed. We should make sure that absentee ballots are, in fact, going to be provided to them.
