Merrill Lynch just sold to Bank of America
In one of the most dramatic days in Wall Street’s history, Merrill Lynch agreed to sell itself to Bank of America for roughly $50 billion to avert a deepening financial crisis while another prominent securities firm, Lehman Brothers, hurtled toward liquidation after it failed to find a buyer, people briefed on the deals said.

It's all happening so fast, that I can't post fast enough to keep up with it.

1. It's a good thing other people have been talking about it for hours...

4. Well, as someone born and raised in Detroit, it's pretty hard to cop an attitude.
Are you an East Sider or a West Sider?

Which Coney Island do you patronize?

How 'bout them Lions? (all right, forget that one. . .)

I am a Detroiter with every ounce of my being, even though I live in Maryland now. So very glad to hear from you, though. You and I have no chance of being disagreeable, even when we disagree.

5. Mt. Elliot and Warren.
There are no Coney Islands in this ZONE and thanks to decades of local democratic corruption and national republican incompetence and despite a competent democratic governor there is not and has not been any viable industry introduced here for years either.

This city is consuming itself alive and nobody seems to give a shit.

6. This East Sider gives a shit.
I'm moving back once I retire in a few years. My family grew up around that area (not far from the airport). I used to hang out at the bars around that area in 1970; burned my draft card in one there with peanut shells on the floor. Dammit, can't remember the name, but loved that place. Glad to say hello to a fellow East Sider.
