Just call me goofy, but I think that the PPT will have a lid on this...
There is too much at stake for the republicans to fight so hard to keep this paper mache economy going, propped up by sticks and chickenwire. They know they are down to the wire, and the PPT will have a lid on this by noon. All the usual suspects will be paraded out for display and plummage comparison, and the imbeciles on CNBC will be parroting the talking points.

They did not delude the nation for this long for the horse not to make it to the finish line. They have this covered.

6. I agree with you on the panic, but these criminals will try to pull off the propoganda.
You and I agree on when this fisaco was going to occur, and we were told what idiots we were...

I am just saying that they will pull out all the stops tomorrow, especially that Japan has a holiday.

8. yeah, but they're trying. Look at this misleading headline on Bloomberg
"Bank of America Will Buy Merrill to Gain Brokerage"

see, it's a GOOD thing - nothing to see here - move along.....

16. BOA has been trying to get into the bizz for a while
under post 1929 rules they couldn't

So for the econ masters it is a good thing

you just need to know how to interpret this

And on a personal note, IT IS a good thing

21. Check out this one:
http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/f8834910-82aa-11dd-a019-000077b07658.html

And the last paragraph is the kicker. The current head of Merrill, a fervent Republican, is thinking of going into politics once he has successfully escaped the sinking Merrill ship. The gaul, the dlusions, the megalomania, the perversion and the total lack of common sense and realism are beyond belief.

on this pig of an economic mess they have made...hoping that the worst won't hit until after the Democrats are in the White House.

It's always been about Commander Codpiece's "legacy", but even more so now.

17. Some DUers believe in a silly imaginary entity called a 'Plunge protection Team"
which supposedly makes the markets go up on bad days in ordcer to provide political cover for Bush. It's pure ignorant fantasy, but you can get some people to believe anything.

3. No doubt, but that won't change the truth
...which will haunt this country for years to come.

Does Obama have a clue what's really going on, and what he faces if he wins, that's what I want to know.

4. I don't think they've got it in them.
I'm not making any predictions for this week, but in the case of a huge sell-off on the markets, I think PPT would be pissing into the wind.

I don't know if they can keep their finger in the dyke much longer before it all comes crashing down. I think they've fucked up so bad, even they are shocked. We'll see, I guess.

22. Did you remember to send the memo to the Chinese, the Europeans, the Arabs...
the Russians, the Japanese, the Latin Americans? How far will they and can they go in stabilizing the situation? How much do they want to lose on this deal? They held it together and did not challenge the dollar or US hegemony before the reelection of Bush. Do you think they want to hold it together to elect McCain?

The US government went bankrupt last week, remember?
