What is TexPool?
What is TexPool?
Organized in 1989, TexPool is the largest and oldest local government investment pool in the State of Texas. TexPool currently provides investment services to over 2000 communities throughout Texas.

How is TexPool organized?
The State Comptroller of Public Accounts oversees TexPool. Lehman Brothers and Federated Investors manage the daily operations of the pool under a contract with the Comptroller.

What services does Lehman Brothers provide to TexPool?
Lehman Brothers is the administrator for the TexPool program providing Participant Services and Marketing functions to TexPool participants. Lehman Brothers is the participant contact point for account maintenance, assistance with transactions, and other administrative information.

2. In fairness, it's a generally fine investment vehicle
That's not insider info; it's an objective statement based on past performance and laudable transparency.

However, since it was managed by Lehman, one wonders what the impact will be for those ~2,000 Texas communities.

Everyone at Lehman with whom I've ever dealt directly has been honest, hard-working, and diligent.

Of course, I've never dealt with the truly high-echelon hucksters, so...

5. One caused me to be reminded of the other is all. The name Bush
is all too often connected to failure - and I believe with design.

Still, looting a company wouldn't require involving everyone that worked at the company, so...
