GOOG411 (Google's new free 411 information service)
Perhaps I'm the last person on earth to know about this free service.. but I just got an email about it this morning from a co-worker.

Evidently Google has a new service called Goog411. Basically, you program 1-800-GOOG411 into your cell phone, and if you ever need info on something you just call it and get free info. They will even text the info to you after your call. And it's Free?!?

Has anyone used this yet?

Here is Google's video on how it works: http://www.google.com/goog411/

2. A nice way for Google to collect millions of cell phone numbers and active text accounts
For marketing purposes.

3. Ehh.. Free is never actually totally free, right?
I figured once the Obama campaign had my cell number, I was opening myself up to that anyway... and so far I haven't gotten anything except for 2 texts from the campaign.

4. 1-800-FREE411 is another one.
You have to listen to about a half minute commercial, but that's it.

I turned a friend on to it one day recently, and she unexplainably pushed #1 when they asked if she wanted to learn more about the product.

Other than a warning not to do that, it's fine.
(It uses voice commands just like Goog)
