Privatized Social Security |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-15-08 01:03 PM by Lifetimedem
The Republicans have been pushing privatized Social Security and IRA's instead of a fixed pension , they told us Social Security was going to fail and that we could all become RICH like them.
This should be a wake up call that in fact to privatize Social security and to bet your retirement on an IRA is indeed gambling with your old age.
Obama has the long term solution to Social Security...that is tax 100% of earnings . No one making a high income would miss that money and it would assure a retirement income for the lower and middle class so they do not have to sell pencils on the corner .
He needs to use this time to push an assured retirement fund in Social Security and to encourage businesses to have a fixed retirement plan in addition to the IRAs.
What happens on Main street always has affected Wall street.. people without money can not buy those cheap Chinese goods and they find themselves digging into their IRAs to pay their mortgages and debts .
Democrats have always sought to have a positive effect on the young, the old, the sick and the poor..
Barack needs to use this to his advantage now

the Wall Street Dems are peddling. Things will have to get a whole lot worse for all those old boys to be completely discredited.
Remember, we've been here before, the timing was just a little different, the crash happening one year into a GOP administration following a GOP administration instead of nearly at the end of back to back GOPs. If we get Democrats into office, maybe it won't be as bad as the last one.
Today isn't a crash, BTW. In fact, it's not nearly as bad as what I'd been bracing for, although it's not over yet.
